Cambridge Lodge is a substantially large detached building in Didsbury on the outskirts of Manchester. The home has been developed to accommodate 13 separate, single self contained tenancy flats and 4 bedsits. Our aim is for individuals to step up into Supported Living as their Outcomes and Living Skills are achieved.

Didsbury offers the best of everything. There is a recommended College and excellent sports facilities. There are a number of highly recommended restaurants, bars and pubs. There are numerous hair salons, beauty therapists and Shops. There is a cinema and two Golf Courses that are situated close to the house. Didsbury Park is a huge community park that has a football pitch and Botanical Gardens.

Cambridge Lodge

There are 13 separate self-contained tenancy flats and 4 bedsits that accommodate Learning Disabled Adults prior to them moving into less staff supported homes in the community. The facilities were created for those individuals who want to have more independence.

All the bedrooms have been created so that they are homely, safe and secure. They are of a considerable size to ensure that the individual may live in comfort and be as self-sufficient as they want.

Our Service

At Cambridge Lodge all clients receive a personal care plan to suit their individual needs. We encourage people to make decisions and express their feelings and emotions. Clients are helped to maintain their independence through their care plan and we support their wishes to privacy and dignity. Above all, we respect our clients' rights to their beliefs and views.

By getting to know the individuals that we care for, we aim to understand the causes behind any behavioural issues. It is imperative to respond in a supportive and therapeutic way that minimises the need for physical intervention. The experienced employees are familiar with possible causes of these problems and are fully trained in diversionary and de-escalating techniques.

Cambridge Lodge Facilities

Our philosophy of helping clients to reach their full potential and maximise personal growth forms the basis to our structured activity programmes. Activities include education, regular visits to local cinemas, shops, public houses, restaurants, leisure centres, fishing, swimming, gym, walks, long weekends away, computer skills and museums. Clients are also treated to bus and boat tours, and encouraged to help run the home. Best of all, our clients enjoy private, individually decorated rooms.

Service users have the follow-up support of community nurses who provide support for additional health needs and carry out medical reviews. Service users also have access to local health services including opticians, dentists and chiropodists as required.
